The 24th Annual Woodstock Film Festival’s Maverick Awards was held on October 30th, 2023, with 300 attendees made up of independent film makers and movie goers. This year’s Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to director, producer and screenwriter, James Ivory. The categories and awards presented this year consisted of three Oscar qualifying categories (Best Short Animation, Best Short Doc, and the Mark Braunstein Award for Best Short Narrative).
I worked with the Executive Director and internal festival staff to produce the live show in Saugerties, NY. Hosted by comedian Zilla Vodnas, the show spanned two hours and contained presentations from Thelma Adams and Matthew Modine (Lifetime Achievement Award to James Ivory) and awards such as Gigantic Pictures Award for Best Feature Narrative, the Leon Gast Award for Best Feature Documentary, The Gray Schwartz Ultra Indie Award, Best Editing (Doc & Narrative), Best Cinematography and NYWIFT Awards for Doc and Narrative.
